Privacy Policy

How Veya handles account information, reading activity, creator content, transactions, safety records and privacy choices.

Last updated September 14, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Veya processes information when people use the Veya website, reader features, author tools, support systems, moderation tools and related services.

Third-party services such as payment processors, identity or payout providers, hosting providers and authentication infrastructure may process information under their own privacy terms as well as instructions from the Veya operator.

2. Information we process

  • Account and profile information, such as email address, username, display name, avatar, biography, authentication state and account settings.
  • Reader activity, such as library entries, follows, reading progress, ratings, reviews and interaction with published stories.
  • Author content and publishing information, such as novels, chapters, cover images, tags, content ratings, warnings and publication settings.
  • Community and safety information, such as comments, reports, appeals, support requests and moderation records.
  • Transaction information, such as credit ledger entries, Premium chapter purchases, payment order status, refunds, disputes, author earnings and payout-request records.
  • Security and technical information made available by browsers and infrastructure providers, which can include device, network, request, diagnostic and anti-abuse information.

Veya is designed so full payment-card or bank credentials are handled by the relevant payment or payout provider rather than stored directly by the Veya application. Veya may still receive provider identifiers, transaction status and compliance or onboarding status.

3. How information is used

  • Provide accounts, authentication, reading, publishing, library, discovery, notification and support features.
  • Process credits, Premium access, author earnings, refunds, disputes and payouts where those services are enabled.
  • Apply Mature-content eligibility, moderation, fraud prevention, abuse controls and platform-security measures.
  • Operate analytics and service diagnostics needed to understand performance and improve reliability.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce platform terms and respond to valid rights, safety or law-enforcement requests.

5. When information may be shared

  • With infrastructure, hosting, authentication, storage, email, anti-abuse, analytics, payment and payout providers that help operate the service.
  • With professional advisers, auditors, insurers or transaction counterparties when reasonably required for business, security or transfer due diligence and subject to appropriate confidentiality controls.
  • When required by law, court order or valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, the platform or the rights of others.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale or transfer of the Veya service, subject to applicable law and appropriate handling of personal information.

Veya does not treat personal information as a product to be sold for unrelated advertising purposes.

6. Cookies and local storage

Veya and its authentication or infrastructure providers may use cookies or similar browser storage for sessions, security, preferences and essential service operation. Some interface preferences can also be stored locally on the device.

Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in or other account features from working correctly.

7. Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the account or service, to protect security and integrity, or to satisfy legal, financial, dispute-resolution and audit obligations.

Deletion of an account does not always require immediate deletion of records that must be preserved for fraud prevention, financial reconciliation, moderation integrity, legal claims or compliance. Public content and account-linked data may also require a controlled deletion or anonymization process.

8. International processing

Veya is designed for a global audience and may use providers operating in different countries. Information can therefore be processed outside the user’s country of residence. Where required, the operator should use lawful transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards appropriate to the jurisdictions involved.

9. Privacy choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to certain processing. Users may also have the right to complain to an appropriate privacy regulator.

Requests can be submitted through the Veya Help Center. Identity verification may be required before account-specific information is disclosed or changed.

10. Children and Mature content

People who are below the minimum age legally required to use an online service in their jurisdiction should not create a Veya account without any consent or safeguards required by applicable law.

Mature 18+ content is separately restricted. Access to Mature content is intended only for users who meet the platform’s age and eligibility requirements. See the Mature Content Policy for more detail.

11. Security

Veya uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or loss. These controls can include authenticated access, role-based permissions, database row-level security, audit records, security headers and multi-factor protections for privileged operations.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their account credentials and report suspected compromise promptly.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the service, providers, legal requirements or business operator change. Material changes should be communicated in a reasonable way and the updated date on this page will be revised.
